Get started on your garment sewing journey in this three day camp! We will use the book How to Sew Clothes to start sewing garments in woven fabric, from taking your measurements to cutting the fabric to making a shirt just for you! We will sew a boxy top with customizations and cover additional garment sewing skills that students are interested in. Students should be comfortable sewing independently.
Supplies:
-The book How to Sew Clothes from All Well Workshop
~ 2 yards of woven fabric, prewashed
-Thread to match
-A fresh machine needle (70/10 or 80/12)
Bring your own machine in good, working condition or rent a classroom machine. Our classroom has all basic sewing supplies, but students may prefer to bring their own kit (scissors, pins, marking tools, measuring tools)
Day one- Project planning, sewing warm-up, cutting fabric
Day two- Sewing the Boxy Top (and any mods such as ruffle hem, patchwork panel, etc)
