FREE Collage Night is back! Join us at Observable Universe (2200 Dominion St. Unit F) Tuesday, May 28th from 6:30pm-8:30pm. All materials provided!

SUMMER CAMP Sign Ups now open!

This summer I am very excited to be teaching a very limited number of weeks at Freeman’s Creative in Durham! This is BIG NEWS because I have only taught camp at the ArtsCenter in Carrboro for over a decade! Now that I live north of Durham, commuting to Carrboro is too far, so I am thrilled to be partnering with Amelia and the team at Freeman’s Creative- Durham’s own craft store for all things sewing and yarn! These listings are available to Newsletter members first here! They are not listed publicly so snag your spot now using the links below!

Sessions are 3 or 5 days, 3 hours long each day, 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm, for different age groups. All Supplies provided! Bring your own machine in good, working condition or rent a classroom machine.

Starting June 17th, we will host a number of kids camps, and one adult camp!

June 17- 21- Beginner Sewing Camp (5 days)
AM Session (9am-12pm) for 8-12 years old (3 spots left)
PM Session (1pm-4pm) for 13-18 years old (6 spots open)

June 26 - 28- Beginner Sewing Camp (3 days)
AM Session (9am-12pm) for 8-12 years old (6 spots open)
PM Session (1pm-4pm) for 13-18 years old (5 spots open)

July 10-12- No Fear Serger Camp (3 Day, Adults)
AM Session (9am-12pm) for Adults (4 spots open)

July 10-12- Altered Style Camp (3 Day, Age 13-18)
PM Session (1pm-4pm) for 13-18 year olds (6 spots open)

July 15-19- Beginner Quilting Camp (5 Day)
AM Session (9am-12pm) for 8-12 years old (4 spots open)
PM Session (1pm-4pm) for 13-18 years old (6 spots open)

Creative Workshops Resources

During the month of May, I’ve been having a great time teaching a Craft period at Emerson Waldorf school for 9th graders. We’ve been focusing on textile and fiber handwork like hand stitching, cyanotypes and Shibori Indigo! I love seeing what designs they come up with!

Creative play at the office- I got to Potato Print with a team from Duke. Great to get out of the usual routine and make something for fun!

I write this as I watch the first episode of Bridgerton and there is funny scene about how riveting embroidery is! <3. Which is also why you’re getting it later in the day than I intended.
